Taurasi Riserva is made from the grapes of the highest section of the vineyard of Aglianico of the Fonzone estate, on top of a hill in the district of Scorzagalline in the municipality of Paternopoli. Bred espalier with spur pruning, the vines enjoy a favorable exposure to the southwest, on clay loam soils placed at an altitude of 430 m above sea level.

The grapes cultivated have an excellent quality enhanced by the wine-making which includes a long maceration of the skins and a aging for four years, including 18 months in new barrels of French oak. The result is a wine of great texture and addictive aromatic complexity, intended to evolve during the time.

VINIFICATION: the grapes are harvested by hand and placed in perforated boxes, rushed to the nearby wine cellar and meticulously de-stemmed. The fermentation and maceration take place in stainless steel tanks for a period of 15-20 days. Subsequently, after the first racking and the start of malolactic fermentation, the wine is transferred in new French oak barrels, where it stays for 18 months.

CHARACTERISTICS: brilliant ruby red, the nose is of great complexity and finesse, with intense notes of black berries and dried flowers, which are accompanied by hints tertiary such as tobacco, leather, licorice and sandalwood. The palate is enveloping, intense and persistent, elegant structure.
